Riding Leash
How does the riding leash work exactly?
The riding companion leash consists of a main leash and an additional leash. The main line is always slightly thicker (10 mm) than the additional line (8 mm).
The leash works similarly to a retriever leash, but there is an additional leash that allows the loop to be opened from the horse. By pulling the additional leash, the loop opens, which serves as a collar for the dog. Using the main line, the opened loop is now pulled over the dog's head. Once this is done, the additional leash is simply released and the loop adapts to the circumference of the dog's neck. Now the leash is on you can start riding.
Leashing works the same way. By pulling the additional leash, the loop opens again and using the main leash, the leash can be passed over the dog's head. The dog can then be sent out to run free.
How do I adjust the leash to the horse size?
The knot on the main line can be individually adjusted. The knot can easily be moved either up or down by loosening it. The additional leash has a sliding knot. By simply pulling the rope through, the leash can be lengthened or shortened. The additional line is attached to a ring on the main line.
ATTENTION: little tip - when hanging, the additional leash should always be a little longer than the main leash so that the collar loop does not open itself when you move
Can I also use the lines separately?
There are 3 different versions of the riding leash. In the two versions with a collar, both leashes can also be used separately as an everyday leash. With the retriever leash variant, the main leash can function as a long retriever leash by loosening the additional leash. The additional leash can be used with a collar, for example as a short guide.
How does the saddle mount work?
The saddle bracket attaches to one of the rings on the saddle at one end. The other end is placed around the riding line and hooked into itself. Make sure the carabiner is pulled down firmly so that the riding leash does not get lost while riding.
With western saddles, the companion can easily be hung around the horn.
With English saddles, a second holder can be attached to the saddle so that the leash can be placed over the withers and stored here.
